The Varsity Boys Wrestling team opened up Greater Cleveland Conference dual action with a couple of victories on Thursday evening. The Battling Bees defeated Shaker Heights 62-15 and Cleveland Heights 53-27. Picking up wins for Medina were Landon Stolz (106), Dominic DiFilippo (113), Jackson Herman (120), Taegan Gilmore (126), Tyler Bradshaw (132), Cooper Lavender (138), Michael Kessler (144), Jack Storm (157), Lazar Kovacevic (165), and Cliff Nicholson (285).
Taegan Gilmore set the career near falls record with 316. The old record was 314.
The Bees are 2-0 in the GCC and will be back in action this weekend at the Hudson Holiday Tournament.
