The varsity boys soccer team defeated Jackson 3-1 in an OHSAA Division I District Final on Saturday afternoon at Ely Stadium. The District Title was the 2nd straight and 11th in 12 years for the program. Charlie Getz opened up the scoring in the 1st half, while Kollin Leyden scored the 2nd goal for the Bees off an assist by Cameron Moorman. The Polar Bears would score on a penalty kick right before halftime but Jackson Harvey was able to provide some cushion in the 2nd half when he scored off a rebound of his own penalty kick.

Medina improves to 11-6-1 overall on the season. The Battling Bees advance to the Sweet 16 and will take on a familiar foe in the Saint Ignatius Wildcats. The Regional Semifinal match will be played at Byers Field in Parma on Wednesday night at 7pm.
