The varsity Boys Basketball team fell to Division 3 state semifinalist Garfield Heights and reigning Mr. Basketball Marcus Johnson 76-58 on Tuesday night. The Battling Bees were able to hang with the Bulldogs for most of the game but a 16-2 run over a 4:20 stretch turned out to be the difference. Garrett Myers finished with 20 points, 4 rebounds, and 4 assists, while Brody Kopkas added 16 points and 7 rebounds, along with four 3-pointers overall. Beckett Miller had a solid 4th quarter to finish with 9 points and Ryan Harubin added 8 points. Donte Cargill chipped in with 5 points off the bench. Johnson finished with 38 points, 11 rebounds, and 4 steals for Garfield Heights.

Medina is 0-1 overall on the season. The boys will be back in action on Friday night as they host Shaker Heights as part of a girls/boys doubleheader to open league play.
