Medina and Strongsville, as usual, battled it out in another close game on Saturday, but the Bees lost 54-48 on their home court. Medina led by as many as 10 and by 5 at halftime, but Strongsville separated themselves at the end of the 3rd Quarter by forcing 12 Medina turnovers in the period. The Bees fought back still to get within one basket late in the 4th Quarter before the Mustangs nailed a key 3-pointer and hit free throws.
Medina falls to 2-3 overall, 2-2 GCC. Strongsville is now 6-0.
The Bees were led by Vivian Kelps' career-high 10 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal and Molly Gilbert's team-high 14 points, 10 rebounds, 3 assists. Abby Dress (8 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists) and Addy Shook (7 points, 9 rebounds) also contributed.
The JV-A team edged the Mustangs behind the play of Sydney Novak as she returned to the court this week from a knee injury.
Medina next travels to Cleveland Heights next Saturday, December 20.
