HOFMANNS, OEHLERS LEAD BEES TO A 2ND PLACE FINISH IN GCC REGULAR SEASON MEET

The gymnastics team displayed its depth at the first important meet of the season. Hailey Hofmann, Bethany Hofmann, Caitlyn Oehlers, and Brianna DeBow earned 4 of the top 6 spots in the all-around for the Bees, who finished 2nd behind Strongsville at the Greater Cleveland Conference regular season meet on Sunday. Medina (135.3) finished behind the Mustangs (140.15), but ahead of Brunswick, Mentor, Shaker Heights, and Cleveland Heights. The Bees scored a league-high 35.3 on the balance beam and were 2nd on the vault and uneven parallel bars. Senior Hailey Hofmann was the runner-up in the all-around, while younger sister Bethany was 4th, junior Oehlers placed 5th, and sophomore DeBow was 6th. Oehlers also captured her initial GCC title by tying for 1st on the balance beam and shared 5th place on the bars with Hailey Hofmann. DeBow had a breakthrough performance by winding up 3rd on the vault. Hailey Hofmann finished 3rd on the beam and 4th on the vault.
