The varsity boys volleyball team opened up the regular season with a pair of victories on Saturday afternoon. They competed in a tri-meet at Perrysburg with the host Yellow Jackets and Sylvania Northview.
The Battling Bees won the first match against Northview by scores of 25-10 and 25-18. Oliver Singer had 8 kills and 3 aces, while Brayden Howells finished with 8 assists, 2 kills, and a block. Trent Balicki chipped in with 3 aces and 7 digs.
Medina would also win the second match over Perrysburg in straight sets (26-24, 25-21). Oliver Singer finished with 10 kills. Brayden Howells had 16 assists, while Trent Balicki had 2 aces and 8 digs. Aiden Gontarz added 5 kills.
Medina starts the season off with a 2-0 record. The boys are in action on Tuesday night when they welcome the Stow-Munroe Falls Bulldogs to The Hive for the home opener.
