The varsity softball team came from behind twice to defeat Brunswick 9-4 on Wednesday afternoon. The victory completed the season sweep of the Blue Devils in the last GCC contest for the Bees. Freshman Brooke Housum came through in the circle and at the plate going 2-for-3 with 3 RBIs, while tossing a complete game. She had a game-tying hit in the 3rd inning and added some insurance by knocking in another run in the 6th inning. Katie Rubino had a pair of hits and a spectacular diving catch in the outfield, while Olivia Hendrickson finished with 2 RBIs and a single. Hannah Neal tied the game in the 5th inning with a hit up the middle and would later score on a single by Lily Cassidy.
Medina improves to 16-6 overall and finishes 8-2 in the GCC.
