The varsity boys volleyball team defeated Painesville Riverside in an OHSAA Division I Regional Qualifying match at Medina High School on Wednesday evening. They eliminated the Beavers by scores of 25-12, 25-12, 25-18. The GCC champions were led by Brayden Howells with 25 assists, 10 digs, and 5 aces. Oliver Singer added 14 kills and 7 digs, while Trent Balicki posted 9 digs and 2 aces.
Medina improves to 19-4 overall on the season and advances to the Regional Quarterfinals on Friday night. The #5 seed Battling Bees will host the #6 seeded Stow-Munroe Falls Bulldogs at 6pm.
