The varsity boys lacrosse team defeated Jackson 15-8 on Tuesday night in an OHSAA Division I Regional Qualifying contest at Robert Fife Stadium in Massillon. Caleb Miller (2 assists) and Will Ivey led the Battling Bees with 4 goals apiece. Bryson Hoffman (2 assists), Lach Talley (assist), and Chase McCurdy (assist) also had strong games as each player had 2 goals. Tyler Wilson put one in the back of the net as he scored his first career goal. Medina was led defensively by Marshal Owings (2 turnovers, 2 ground balls), Evan Ryba (2 turnovers, 6 ground balls), Johnny Nunn (turnover, 6 ground balls), and Alex Whittier (4 ground balls). Owings also had 2 assists.

Medina improves to 9-7 overall on the season and now advances to the next round of the playoffs. The 7th seeded Bees will travel to Shaker Heights on Friday night to take on the 5th seeded Raiders. The Regional Quarterfinal is scheduled for a 7pm start time.
